Candle Lighting
Candle Lighting
Women and girls above the age of three should light candles before every Shabbos and festival NO LATER than the time indicated on the calendar for that specific date. (If there is no woman in the house, the head of the household should light).
It is customary to give charity before lighting the candles. Recite the appropriate blessings, and then make your own personal prayer.
